Behind-the-ear (BTE) hearing aid

Receiver-in-the-ear (RITE)
  • Housed in a shell that rests behind the ear

  • Allow the ear canal to remain open, reducing the uncomfortable "plugged-up" sensation
  • Most appropriate for mild to severe hearing loss
In-the-canal (ITC) hearing aid
  • Custom-made to fit in your ear canal
  • Great for those who do not want their hearing aids to be visible
  • Used to treat mild to severe hearing loss
  • Not recommended for infants or young children
In-the-ear (ITE) hearing aid
  • Custom-made to fit the shape of your outer ear
  • Powerful and easy to handle
  • Reduces the feeling of having something in your ear canal
  • Used to treat mild to severe hearing loss
Completely-in-the-canal (CIC) hearing aid
  • Some of the smallest and most discreet types of hearing aids available
  • Molded to fit in your ear canal
  • Used for mild to moderate hearing loss
  • Also used to help users hear high-frequency sounds
Invisible-in-the-canal (IIC) hearing aid
  • Fit entirely into the ear canal
  • Great for first-time hearing aid wearers
  • Used for mild to moderate hearing loss
